The reason I gave this 4 stars is because I think the sound could be better - even at the lower price point. If you turn the headphone volume above 7 or so, there is a strange effect that the sound has, almost like the tiniest bit of flanger or something similar, and I cant adjust it out using the dials on the headphones. Its not enough to be obtrusive or annoying, but if you listen - its there. I also think that they could be a bit louder, but I suppose that can be subjective. These are nit-picky things though, admittedly.
Overall, I like them and they do what I want them to do, without paying extra money for the Waza-Air headphones. I'm 63 and the nearest big box store is 15 miles away. I'd much rather buy this way from Sweetwater and get it by 9am in a couple of days than deal with traffic and honestly, at least one snob at the other guys store. The policy's that Sweetwater has on the warranty and returns is unbeatable and if I decide its not what I want,I don't have to drive back to the store to return it. It's also great to talk to the same salesman when I call. I'm sure he can pull my previous purchases up on a screen and that familiarity makes him more aware of what my individual aim is. I'm an old classic rocker with 52 years since my first bass purchase with 50 years playing in bands. I have to share this from 1972. The first band I was in and a note that the guitar player is an instructor now, and our female singer makes her living in music to this day.( she's our Linda Ronstadt,we're her Eagles!!) I've had a considerable hearing loss in the past few years and I've had trouble even with tuning my bass. That was eliminated as soon as I put the headphones on. I have the Fender tuning app on my phone also so the headphones bring it directly to me. That alone had me considering selling my equipment. The Vox bass guitar headphones has brought my joy of playing back to me.
