\nWow! I did about 6 months of due diligence prior to purchasing the td17 kv. I had never played edrums before and was reluctant to buying them. I went with Sweetwater because they have always been professional and very knowledgeable. The price was competitive and their warranty is second to none. I was having an issue with volume fluctuations while playing them. The customer service was off the charts. The staff was knowledgeable as we worked together to solve my issue. I finally sent the module back to sweetwater for further analysis. They were not successful in finding the problem. So, what now I said? How about they sent me a brand new td17 module. No questions asked. Oh my God. I was shocked and amazed! And I received it in 2 days. I will never purchase anything regarding my profession from any other music store again. I started playing again a few years after I stopped and I opted for this kit over an acoustic kit. I think that the issues Robin is experiencing is mostly due to the fact that he\/she did not learn the module and how to use it properly. A few things to keep in mind it takes some time setting up the pads to your liking as far as sensitivity\/triggering time ect. Out of the box this thing has some amazing kits. I opt now to use some custom kits I created depending on what Im playing. I will say that the hi-hat trigger is finicky out of the box. I choose to remove one of the springs that way the pedal would trigger properly. If you leave it on Im sure it will break in eventually. If you have the extra cash go for the KVX that way you get the upgraded cymbals and a traditional hi-hat. Regardless of the hi-hat quirk this is a fantastic kit, Im not biased to Roland and considered several options before getting this. Roland has some of the best integration with DAWs out there if Superior drummer is your thing than this is your kit. A few things to keep in mind it takes some time setting up the pads to your liking as far as sensitivity\/triggering time ect. Out of the box this thing has some amazing kits. I choose to remove one of the springs that way the pedal would trigger properly. If you leave it on Im sure it will break in eventually. If you have the extra cash go for the KVX that way you get the upgraded cymbals and a traditional hi-hat. Regardless of the hi-hat quirk this is a fantastic kit, Im not biased to Roland and considered several options before getting this. Roland has some of the best integration with DAWs out there if Superior drummer is your thing than this is your kit. If you don't need the better cymbals (which I didn't think I needed, but now i want to upgrade the cymbals, which will cost way more than what it would have been getting the TD-17KVX) then get this one, and if you will only be practicing, don't get EZ drummer, and if you need to get the program later you can.
