\nIve used Tusq nuts before on guitars, Teles & Strats. This was the easiest one yet!
\nThe height was a DEAD-ON match for the original....I was shocked. Usually theyre just a millimeter or a fraction of a millimeter taller that needed so you can tailor the height to your needs. This one only needed a little sanding on the side to be able to fit into the nut slot of the neck....thats it. Seriously, this took ten minutes. I wouldnt expect most to go this quickly, my past pre-slotted nut swaps took as much as a hour...but this one was beyond easy.
\nPre-slotted, fit the string gauge I use perfectly, 90-105 flatwounds. Larger gauges may need some filing.
\nSome hints for the inexperienced:
\n1) to fit into curved nut slot, lay sandpaper across fret board at either 1st or 2nd fret & sand back & forth. This will ensure the radius will match fretboard.
\n2) string slots have a slight angle to them. The downward angle faces the tuners! On this one, that was the printed side.
\n3) DO NOT USE SUPERGLUE!
\n4) DO NOT USE SUPERGLUE!
\n5) DO NOT USE SUPERGLUE!
\n6) wood glue or simple Elmers does the trick. Only use a COUPLE of drops...DO NOT fill the slot with glue. Its messy & will make replacing a nut in the future a nightmare.
