\nDont let the price fool you. Save your budget for the 500 series units and go for an L6 chassis. Its a super straightforward piece of housing that looks and feels solid for the amount youre paying. With no cables required to chain units together, all you need is an input and output XLR to get yourself started.
\n
\nIn depth:
\nAt first I did a ton of research before buying my 500 series modules and rack. Every time I found myself back at the Midas L6. In terms of space, ease of use, and build quality, Id really like to give Midas an applause. I couldnt believe that I was able to get a 6-space rack for this price. They included extra screws, as well as an added set of wings for hooking this unit into a rackmount space.
\n
\nFor musicians on a budget who need a simple solution to adding console sound to their mix, you cant go wrong with the L6.
\nIt gives you plenty of possibilities for combining modules without going overboard.
\n
\nI only started off with 2 units, now I have 4 in the rack.
\n6 units is a perfect amount of space in my opinion. Starting off with too few means you have to buy another rack, or you have to compensate and change out your modules to accommodate.
\n
\nI managed to overlook this detail at first, but the main reason I bought this unit is simple: YOU DONT NEED CABLES TO DAISY CHAIN YOUR MODULES TOGETHER! I kept thinking I needed to purchase XLR cables to patch each unit together. Well guess what, you dont need them!
\nThere are little buttons on the back that will link your modules together in the chain one by one.
\n
\n
\nPersonally the only improvement could have been in the screws. They were a tad bit short, and when screwing in two of my modules, I had a bit of an issue fitting them in due to the screwholes being ever so slightly off. This might have been from the modules themselves, but I ended up switching the torx screws out for standard philips head and I havent had a problem since. This is the only thing keeping it from a full 5 stars, otherwise there is absolutely nothing wrong with it and I love mine so far.

\n
\nNEGATIVES:
\nThe star screws are not only inconvenient, but also strip quite easily. Not good.
\n
\nThe spacing to the 500 series slot is actually a bit off. I had multiple cards barely connect. This actually impacted one of my cards in that its output was no where near what it should be. I thought it was the card until I grabbed my multi meter and checked my output levels. After taking the face plate off of my cards and inserting it more deeply into the back connector, it completely fixed the issue.
\n
\nThis is a major deal and almost a deal breaker. I resolved the issue by moving the card to a different slot. But, this is not good.
\n
\nSo the spacing to the back of 500 series connectors is a little long and may not connect your card thoroughly.
\n
\nAlso, on spacing, as other reviewers mention, is not good left to right either. It is extremely tight.
\n
\n
\nSo... Is it worth it? If youre on a budget, yes. This is a great way to get into 500 series.

In terms of space, ease of use, and build quality, Id really like to give Midas an applause. I couldnt believe that I was able to get a 6-space rack for this price.

Mark A. P. Sirinathsingh

你付的钱还不错。我发誓我的设备需要额外2毫米的空间,因为如果它们的前面板上有粉末涂层,我几乎无法把所有模块都放进去。此外,没有工具提供的单元安装模块,所以如果你没有合适的螺丝刀,你会感到沮丧,当你不能立即安装。(幸运的是,我有克莱因螺丝刀多与适当的提示}
