\nThe metal mounting plates are a one-time installation using screws. They include rubber bumpers\/feet that will allow you to set your KeyLab on a table when the legs arent attached; they will prevent the leg mounts from touching the surface, so its fine to leave them on all the time. The keyboard still looks reasonable on a table, not too tall.

\nOnce the plates are attached, the legs themselves screw in easily, and the back brace attachments are hand-fastenable without tools. I timed it, and on my first try it took 54 seconds for me to remove the legs, and 1:43 to put them back on and stand the keyboard up. The legs also take up less space than a stand if space in your car is at a premium.
